About Us

Parker House Nursing Home takes pride in offering high-quality care for the people we accommodate, to promote their health, welfare, self-determination and quality of life. We accept people with residential or nursing needs for long term, short-term, convalescence, respite and emergency care.

Parker House Nursing Home aims to provide its care home family with a secure, relaxed and homely environment in which their care, well-being and comfort are of prime importance. Parker House is a small 25-bedded home which encourages positive approaches to caring for people with physical and mental health needs over the age of eighteen and people with dementia. We emphasize the importance of seeing each elderly person as an individual and as a ‘whole person’ with psychological, social, emotional and physical needs.

Parker House is a meticulously maintained charming Victorian Residence with ornate ceilings and original fireplaces. The home is situated close to all amenities near a main bus route. The building is conveniently located in a pleasant suburb of Nottingham on Albemarle Road; the peaceful tree-lined road provides a calm and countrified atmosphere for the residents to enjoy.

The City Centre and areas leading away from the city are easily accessed from the home. The building is set within its own private grounds with on-site car parking. Access to the building is wheelchair friendly

Our carers strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all members of our care home family, within a warm and caring environment and, in so doing, will be sensitive to their ever-changing needs. Such needs may be medical/therapeutic (for physical and mental welfare), cultural, psychological, spiritual, social and emotional.  Each member of our care home family is encouraged to participate in the development of their personalised Care Plans in which the involvement of family and friends may be appropriate and is greatly valued.

All Care Staff within the Home are appropriately qualified to deliver the highest standards of care. An ongoing staff-training program is implemented to ensure that these high standards are maintained in line with the latest developments in Care Practices as may be laid down in appropriate Legislation, Regulations and the Care Quality Commission.

All Staff have Dementia Awareness training and most have completed more detailed courses on Dementia as well as other specialist courses.

The home has small living areas which encourage effective, positive person to person interaction.

Our residents are encouraged to join in the in-house activity programme, if that is their wish, and to go out on the trips arranged by our activities coordinator.

Each Resident is assessed and their care plans are developed to meet their needs; these care plans are reviewed and updated on a monthly basis or as the person’s needs or requirements change.

Each Resident is allocated a particular carer who acts as the key worker for that individual, ensuring their needs are met, and liaising with their loved ones for any items needed to make each of our care home family members happier and more content at Parker House.

I don’t think that I will ever be able to find the words to express my deep gratitude to you for all that you have done for me and continue to do. You are, quite literally, my lifesaver.

Linda Roberts, Wood Worker
